I just had to laugh at this video.
On the other hand, we are blessed to be called children of God and therefore, we have something to be excited about and something to share with others. We should be living transformed lives that have been transformed by the renewing and the exercising of our minds. Studying the Bible, reading books on theology and culture, having open discussions about faith with church and unchurched friends, practicing a faith that is visible but not for show. These are the sorts of things we should be doing. Otherwise, people like Bill Maher will continue to reject God and the gap between thinking followers of Jesus and everyone else will grow by default.
I don’t want my thoughts to be rejected just because someone associates me with all the stereotypes of Christianity. I want people to let the Word of God speak objectively to them. This is a call to action, a call to think, a call to love and serve, a call to non-stupidity. If you’re not up to the challenge, then you are forsaking the two greatest commandments: to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength and to love your neighbor as yourself. Can any rejection of the greatest commandments be called Christianity?

i've seen this video before and it's hilarious. there's a more recent version with a different song where one of the singers literally starts breakdancing…it's hilarious! if i can find it, i'll send it to you…but i completely understand and agree with your more serious points.
it was a lot easier to find than i thought so here it is…http://vids.eonline.com/services/link/bcpid1498021758/bclid1508311669/bctid1805534555
That is hilarious. Although the video that actually came up was about Paris Hilton. You have to look to the right on the menu and there's a video about "Divine Dancing". Thanks for the link…that's crazy.
weird…i got the link right off of the video…at least you found it…
how dare you call these guys stupid ? I mean, they certainly are not serving the gospel if you transport them to 2008, but what did they have to offer at the time they made this "song" ? Yes, it's hilarious – like most videos of 10-20 years ago
But "stupid" ? whoever says "you empty headed idiot" shall be liable and unable to escape the hell of fire — Matt 5:21.I don't think you can rebel against stereotypes. The problem lies in the human nature to use those stereotypes. You'd better be ready to counter the stereotype by being real and have a smart way to show what it means.thanks for the post.
Kafka,That seemed a bit harsh. I was referring to how people like Bill Maher perceive these people and the people that he interviewed for his video "Religulous". He finds the ones that he considers stupid and makes them look that way. If through reading this post you think I'm in danger of hell fire then I apologize for my lack of ability in being clear.
